There is always a need for more Volunteers to assist with the erection, maintenance and taking down of the lights. They are welcome however much or little time they can spare - no technical skills are required, but always welcome. Erection in 2019 will start on Saturday 19th October from 8.00 am at the store at the rear of the Conservative Club in King Edward Road. The team are out working on Saturdays and Sundays (starting at 8.30) throughout October and November (except Remembrance Sunday) until erection is completed on the weekend before Switch-on.
Dismantling starts on the first weekend following twelfth night, the time taken depends on the numbers of volunteers available and the weather conditions. For several years it has been achieved in a single weekend and only one extra half day for 2019!! If you wish to help in 2020 we will commence on Saturday 11th January at 8.00 am.
You can do your bit by joining us. If 8.00 am is too early you can join the team
at any stage by finding them around the town. Working clothes are essential but hi-viz bibs, working gloves and hard hats are supplied as required.
